About Design Biennale Zurich
Founded in 2017, the Design Biennale Zurich is a platform for experimental design. Biennially, it unites an array of installations from diverse disciplines, transforming design from an abstract concept into a tangible experience. While the Biennale attracts design creators and experts, it also aims to engage anyone with an interest in design. The focus is on experimental and process-oriented projects from all design disciplines such as product design, graphics, interior, fashion, textiles, interaction and game design as well as scenography.
The Design Biennale Zürich is the brainchild of Gabriela Chicherio and Andreas Saxer. They founded the association Freundeskreis Design in 2015, which led to the establishment of the Design Biennale Zürich in 2017. Gabriela Chicherio, a seasoned product designer, lends her expertise to numerous projects and institutions. Andreas Saxer, also a product designer, serves as a lecturer at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts and is a board member of the Swiss Design Association.
