À propos de Dominic Bromley
EN SAVOIR PLUS SUR DOMINIC BROMLEY
Scabetti is the creative work of industrial designers Dominic and Frances Bromley, who have specialised in interior accessories, lighting and sculpture. Originally
founded in 1999 by Dominic, he has recently joined forces with his partner Frances, who undertakes much of the development work. Despite the Italian sounding name, the pair are both English, shamelessly stealing the name from their young daughters inability to pronounce spaghetti correctly. Dominic’s distinctive style can be seen throughout their collection, which includes, at one end of the scale, tabletop ceramics such as the fun, anthropomorphic salt’n’pepper shakers and smooth tactile vases, right through to the tantalising Drawn to the Light, a chandelier consisting of 36 fine bone china forms that appear to hover around a naked bulb. This design has been further explored by Frances, resulting in larger clusters and configurations, along with material variations such as oak, glass and black bone china. The use of bone china in lighting, has also resulted in the stunning Cibola Pendant Light, that utilises both the translucency of china to create a warm glow, and the pure whiteness of the ceramic body to reflect light. Scabetti ceramics are a firm favourite with both interior designers and boutiques around the globe. Furthermore, acknowledgement of Scabetti’s contribution to design came in November 2004, when Dominic had the honour of attending a reception held
at Buckingham Palace by HM The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh to celebrate excellence in British Design.
