EN SAVOIR PLUS SUR FOS CERAMICHE
FOS CERAMICHE is a manufacture of Art and Design that creates handmade porcelain objects in Faenza since 1987.
Faenza is world famous for it's ceramic production: faenza-faïence. As early as the 13th century, ceramic art flourished in Faenza, the very centre of pottery production. FOS is the acronym of FORM-OBJECT-SURFACE, three notions that reflect the philosophy of our production: quality is an imperative and research has no limits, aiming the curing in the minimum of details.
Porcelain is the raw material, to which old and new manufacturing technologies attribute unique technical and aesthetic features. Mechanical resistance and hardness of the ceramic body, both obtained by a high firing temperature of 1250°C, coexist with the chromatic effects of the glazed surfaces. Noble metals such as gold, platinum and silver are applied by hand on the glazed surface where they are fixed via meticulous firing process. For a classic material like ceramic, designing of the collections provides new standards giving emphasis to the biscuit, that is , the unglazed porcelain.
Geometric as well as natural stylized forms - the "Nature reduced in the essential", said Henry Moore, play with stripes, relieves, and fascies where colours contrast the absolute white, sculpted and smoothed of the porcelain. Knowing deeply porcelain, enables us to create an unlimited number of white variations only visible when our precious material is bathed in light.
Every object we make, reflects the constant equilibrium between the handicraft and it's design and brings engraved on it our trademark and, Made in Italy.
