Maurizio Lai | Principal & Director
Architect and designer, Maurizio Lai began his career designing for the television, entertainment and fashion, to quickly extend his activity to the residential, commercial and contract industry, both in Italy and abroad.
In 1998 he founded LAI STUDIO in Milano, as a multidisciplinary body that develops continuous synergies between architecture and design, determining its creative imprint and the intense emotional impact of the works.
Original interpreter of a contemporary aesthetic, his work is defined by an instinctive approach, which is naturally reflected in his creations, where lighting has always played a fundamental role, anticipating times and trends.
Widely recognized for the quality of his production, his style has been described as one of the most interesting in the contemporary Italian scene.
Maurizio Lai was recently awarded the RBDA as Best Lighting International and nominated finalist for the WIN Awards 2018 as Best Interior Practice of the Year. His work is featured in the most authoritative architecture and design publications.
