Magu Design. Architects, interior architects and interior design professionals with years of experience creating office buildings, commercial spaces and residential homes.
We design buildings, spaces and environments that reflect the changes that are occurring in society, especially where new technology is concerned. A living or working space should be given a clear identity. Magu Design challenges conventional thinking and we are not afraid to test the limits of design. The environments in which we work and live have a great effect on our lives. Our surroundings should be inspiring and suited to their purpose.
Interior architects work at the crossroads of development and adaptation, in the grey-zone between fantasy and action. Magu Design also wants our work to produce joy and passion – with a dash of liberating craziness. We always look for the forest through the trees, and we work on the basic principle that every client feels at home in the environment we create.

Our Profile
Magu Design was founded by Marian Knudsvik and Gudbjørg Simonsen in 2013. Both are seasoned professionals within the field of design and interior architecture. Magu Design has received recognition and media coverage on a number of projects.
Marian Knudsvik is our general manager and a partner at Magu. Marian has a Bachelors in Visual Communication Design from Middlesex University, London, and a Masters in Change Management from the University of Stavanger. Marian works with architecture and organization development as a means of social change. She is also dedicated to creating an identity for each environment she designs. She is always testing the limits of design and challenging conventional thinking with the goal of creating something unique for the people who will be working or living in the rooms she designs.
Gudbjørg Simonsen is the head of our interior and design group and also a partner at Magu. She is a member of the Norwegian Interior Architects and Furniture Designers Association (NIL). Gudbjørg has a Bachelors in Interior Architecture from Kent Institute of Art and Design, a Bachelors in Art History from the University of Oslo and she is a certified lighting consultant. Gudbjørg is an expert at identifying client needs. She is great at planning spaces, lighting and choosing eco-friendly and energy efficient solutions. She is also great at finding functional and aesthetic solutions for the spaces we design. Gudbjørg is a driving force of creative solutions at Magu.
