The design of OpusDV contemporary furniture collections, emerges from the realization that materiality and non-materiality have an equal importance in design - just like ´silence´ is in music, and ´space´ is in architecture. Speaking a language, our individual pieces can be in counterpoint, in a composed in dialogue with one another - discursive in form, texture, color, orientation and function.
OpusDV is an international Design Venture company, based in London and the Iberic Peninsula. The company was founded by Gal Tevet, Architect, with a group of renowned Europan industrialists. OpusDV products exhibit a very high standard of production, useful and poetic detailing, executed combining hand-made and advanced industrial techniques, using a carefully chosen spectrum of materials and finishes adapted to each collection. Its wide range of products, materials, techniques and programmes, are designed to enable a high personalization capacity, versatility, elegance and warmth.
OpusDV launches furniture collections on yearly basis, starting with OpusHome (launched in 2005), OpusArts (launched in 2006), OpusPrivate (to be launched in 2009). OpusContract introduces architectural and furniture solutions for projects, and is based on creation and adaptation of pieces from OpusDV collections in context of high end contract needs.
The three OpusHome collections hereby presented, are designed to complement and enhance one another into a harmonious, meaningful and extremely versatile whole. OpusHome was created as a tool for architects and clients to further the architectural act into interiors, allowing personalization of the offered ranges - wood and upholstered furniture and carpets. The design philosophy behind OpusHome is of designing simple, straightforward, timeless products - a synthesis of present and past traditions of design and craftsmanship, fused together with functionality, comfort, adaptability and versatility of use.
OpusPrivate, to be launched September 2009, offers individual pieces originally designed as bespoke pieces by architects and designers for their clients. he pieces are chosen and adapted to limited series production, hand made, involving high quality materials.
