EN SAVOIR PLUS SUR PATALAB ARCHITECTURE
Uwe Schmidt-Hess
PROFILE:
‘Patalab is a London-based architectural firm founded in 2008. We design beautiful and distinctive contemporary spaces for a wide range of private, public and corporate clients in the UK, Germany and across Europe. Our impressive portfolio of completed work includes a number of acclaimed award-winning schemes – Cascade House in Hampstead, The Gables in Primrose Hill and Marconi House in central London. ‘Patalab’s intelligent, design-led architectural approach results in unique and inspiring projects that are a joy to inhabit.
We are highly skilled at transforming existing buildings into elegant, contemporary spaces that respectfully juxtapose traditional architectural styles with modern design interventions. We are also adept at delivering innovative, site-specific new build projects of all scales across multiple sectors. Whatever the scheme, we are passionate about attention to detail. Our well-refined, striking exteriors and beautifully proportioned, finely crafted interiors are characterised by rich materiality, high-quality detailing and bespoke joinery – all designed to the highest standards and constructed using exceptional levels of craftsmanship.
Inspired by ‘Pataphysics – a philosophical and artistic movement dedicated to exploring the imaginary – ‘Patalab delivers creative, holistic architecture that is meticulously tailored to suit the needs of our clients. In the eight years since the practice was established we have successfully completed over 40 truly bespoke schemes, ranging from complex commercial developments to one-off houses. Our highly professional and collaborative approach has resulted in excellent relationships with our clients. Most of our work is acquired through referrals and many of our clients have returned to us with repeat commissions.
