Abboud Malak, its founder, has built a reputation for creating environments that reflect today’s Gulf region…innovative, modern and aesthetically luxurious. His success has come from his ability to recast the regional vernacular in a modern framework coupled with his pure approach to contemporary design.
Malak’s aesthetic philosophy began to take shape while working in California. The modernist West Coast lifestyle combined with frequent travels to Europe and the Middle East helped to develop his eclectic style-an architecture that is seductively simple yet luxuriously detailed. A balance between beautiful form serving function.
In 1998, Abboud partnered with Kelly Schandel, and with a shared passion for purity of design, founded Studio Ethos in Los Angeles, California. The duo collaborated on numerous projects, including the award-winning bridal boutique, Monique Lhuillier in Beverly Hills.
In 2006, he formed Studio M, a high-end interior Design practice based at the Dubai International Financial Center, and a continuation of his passion for the ideals of light, space and simplicity.
