À la fois massive et aérienne, sobre mais bien affirmée : la table Thonet 1140 créée par Werner Aisslinger pour réunir et faciliter les échanges séduit par sa fonctionnalité, sa polyvalence et son élégante simplicité. Elle se démarque par ses pieds en chêne massif, arrondis en quart de cercle sur l’extérieur, et par ses astucieuses jonctions discrètement visibles aux quatre coins du plateau qui lui donnent presque l’air de flotter. Grâce à cette construction ingénieuse, les chaises à accoudoirs se glissent aussi sous cette table ultra robuste et stable. En plus d’être esthétiques, les pieds de table arrondis sur l’extérieur ont deux autres avantages : on peut s’asseoir très près les uns des autres sans se cogner aux bords des pieds de table et lors du regroupement de quatre tables ou plus, un passage de câbles se crée au milieu. En réduisant la quantité de matériaux utilisés et en choisissant un bois certifié, la fabrication de la table respecte l’environnement. La table 1140 est un vrai multitalent et trouvera sa place chez soi comme table à manger ou de travail mais aussi dans le milieu professionnel : dans l’univers du New Work et du coworking, les bibliothèques et salles de séminaire ou la restauration et l’hôtellerie.

Profile The works of the designer Werner Aisslinger born 1964 cover the spectrum of experimental, artistic approaches, including industrial design and architecture. He delights in making use of the latest technologies and has helped introduce new materials and techniques to the world of product design like in his unique gel furniture with the collection“soft cell“ and the chaise „soft“ for zanotta in 2000. The "Juli chair (cappellini)" was the first item of furniture to use a new type of foam called "polyurethane integral foam" and became the first German chair design to be selected as a permanent exhibit at the MoMA in New York since 1964. In the process he has created striking designs and received awards from all over the world - from Milan's Compasso d'Oro to the Design Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Red Dot Award or FX Award in the UK. Werner Aisslinger´s „loftcube“–project became one of the most discussed modular and transportable housing projects within the last years. His work is exhibited in the permanent collections of international museums such as the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the French Fonds National d´Art Contemporain in Paris, the Museum Neue Sammlung in Munich, and the Vitra Design Museum in Weil, Germany.
