A little bit of Soho in Balham with a late eighties/early nineties edge. This house had been created by a property developer out of a patch of land with garage, at the end of a terrace of Victorian Houses.

The awkward plot had been well utilised with every inch of space thought out. The house had great light and space, but it needed a fresh injection of life, as the white walls and bare floors did not reflect the exuberance of our clients.

For this project we found inspiration in a David Hockney Painting that had the perfect vibe for our homeowners and was the starting point for the colour palette and the early decision to use colour blocking throughout the property to unify and define the spaces.

The clients also showed us their large Lego Deathstar and a hidden but much loved collection of vintage Smash Hits magazines on our first visit and these had a big influence on the final project, not just in the final styling but also in the colour choices and fabric choice of arcade inspired fabrics from Kirkby design.

We defined the function of each space and built in cabinetry along the whole lounge that acts as side table, media unit and extra seating/storage in one clean line. The striking blue custom made sofa makes this a bold party pad with enough room to entertain family and friends and the giant wall art is the final piece in the jigsaw, bringing all the colours together in a graphic way.
