The transformation of the Greenwich Peninsula is one of the largest developments in London for decades, a landscape that over the next 20 years will completely change.
Emulsion were invited by the developer Knight Dragon to showcase and celebrate this development through the design of a public-awareness exhibition. This incorporated interactive, digital and physical exhibits, creating an innovative and accessible multi-media experience.
The concept of the installation is to convey the sense of this new masterplan and infrastructure of the area for visitors as they are taken on an educative journey, whilst emphasising the spirit and creative force behind this significant urban project.
Emulsion chose to use a mix of tactile and crisp contemporary materials including textural wood, dichroic film, natural brass and perforated metalwork, playfully siting the physical alongside the digital of moving image and virtual reality – to convey a sense of the iconic architecture and a forthcoming plethora of modern facilities which will inhabit the future peninsula.
