Womens fashion floor
Having worked with Jarrold for a number of years, Furniss & May were asked to create a new design scheme for the women’s fashion floor and shoe department at their flagship store in Norwich. Collaborating with Now London the brief was to bring the spirit of contemporary international style to the space and create a timeless, open backdrop for the brands. It was essential that the environment would appeal to a wide target audience. In a complete redesign of the current to the 1st floor Furniss & May used a tight palette of natural materials and finishes of walnut stained oak, quarry stone effect porcelain and polished brass to create a classic-contemporary feel that would reflect the timeless elegance of the Jarrold brand.
The fixtures were designed with delicate detailing to form backdrops to the brands product ranges. In the first week of trading, sales were up 10% on own-bought and 14% on fashion concessions.
The Shoe Lounge
Jarrold required the women’s shoe department to be completely repositioned to appeal to a more youthful and fashion conscious customer. Frameless glass shelves on bespoke polished brass frames were connected to full height tubular posts finished in a mid-grey satin lacquer. A delicate lighting feature was crafted by carefully suspending 100 glass pendants over the mid-floor display fixtures.
