Part l of our Idealo Trilogy is a collaboration with WAF Architects for the new headquarters fit out at Ritterhöfe - a one of a kind industrial heritage building in Berlin Kreuzberg. We planned workplaces, conference rooms and public areas for 600 employees relocating from Prenzlauer Berg into this enormous factory space.
Paying tribute to the original character, existing brick walls were only whitewashed and most room structures kept as transparent as possible.
Dark polished asphalt flooring continues throughout all levels of the building. Only changing in texture appears in the area where frameless glass partitions separate conference rooms from the otherwise open space office. Subtle colors in contrast to the otherwise black and white space serves as a backdrop for the signage in the stairwell. Here, all original architectural elements were kept in honor of the buildings history.
