The greatly awaited Northwest Corner Building, designed by Moneo Brock Studio, was inaugurated in May 2010 on the Morningside campus of Columbia University, in New York City. Conceived as a multidisciplinary science building and LEED GREEN certified, it comprises twenty-one new laboratories and a state of the art auditorium, as well as classrooms, faculty offices, a cafeteria and a digital science library. The Sexta hanging lamp, designed by Miguel Milá in 2003, was selected for the library, and its shade height was increased in order to accommodate the energy efficient GU24 bulbs, and meet the LEED standards. Today, twenty-eight customized Sexta lamps lighten a work and study space overlooking the corner of 120th Street and Broadway Avenue.
