Restaurant Gastrologik, Stockholm Sweden
Windsor style chairs in a two Michelin star restaurant – is it possible?
Ten years ago, Anton Bjuhr and Jacob Holmström opened Gastrologik in Stockholm. Dedicated to Sweden's food heritage and locally produced Swedish ingredients, they have created a truly Nordic dining experience that has earned them two stars in the renowned Michelin Guide.
Back when Gastrologik was still an empty shell, they began working with the architect Jonas Lindvall on the interior design. He asked if they could imagine furnishing the restaurant with our Miss Holly chairs, to which they replied, "Can you really have a Windsor style chair in a Michelin star restaurant?" With that said, we drove Miss Holly up to the emerging restaurant and after trying it out for many long hours, Jacob and Anton decided that yes, you can.
After 10 years and more than 60,000 guests, the owners decided it was time for a makeover, so the old white lacquer Miss Holly chairs were replaced with new ones in a natural wood finish. The old chairs were auctioned off and found new homes.
Stolab and Gastrologik share the same passion for our Swedish heritage and authentic production. The food, decor and environment are intimately intertwined and each play an important role as part of the dining experience.
Next door to the two Michelin-star-restaurant Gastrologik, is a space full of possibillities. Previously it was home to the restaurant´s sibling ”Delikatessen Speceriet”, but now it has envolved into duo Anton and Jacob´s Atelje Gastrologik.
Like Stolab, Gastrologik and Ateljé Gastrologik are inherently Swedish. From the raw materials, they work with to the interior design and ambiance. We share a passion for our heritage and genuine, authentic manufacturing and are extremely proud that once again, Anton and Jacob chose Stolab furniture to furnish their Ateljé.
”We look forward to our Miss Holly Chairs and Miss Tailor Tables playing a role in many magical dining experiences in the years to come
