White Italian marble was Michelangelo’s material of choice, so no doubt he would have approved of ATLAS CONCORDE's new Marvel Shine tile collection with its comprehensive range of formats and finishes.

×In the early years of the 16th century, Michelangelo travelled to the Apuane Alps in Tuscany in search of the finest marble for his sculptures. Today, the Carrara region continues to produce some of the world’s most sought-after stone. When choosing the varieties on which to base its Marvel Shine tile collection, Atlas Concorde looked for qualities including purity and luminescence, as well as the pattern of natural veining that makes each type of marble unique.
One of the options selected is the rare and exclusive Statuario marble. Its cool, bright-white background and bold veining make it a popular choice for use in luxury settings. Next is the elegant Calacatta Imperiale, which features gold and grey veins crisscrossing its crystal white surface. The Calacatta Delicato design is inspired by a type of Apuan white marble with subtle veining, while Calacatta Prestigio combines a warm, ivory-white background with grey-beige lines of varying widths.

×In a nod to traditional applications of marble in interiors, Marvel Shine also includes several decorative options, including bookmatched panels and geometric mosaics that combine the pure white tiles with carefully chosen colours and complementary materials. Recognising that the high-gloss surfaces might not suit every scheme, Atlas Concorde has also expanded the range by introducing complementary matte and silk variants.
On a practical level, the Marvel Shine tiles are available in a wide range of formats and thicknesses to ensure there is a suitable solution for any interior. The comprehensive collection provides ample scope to showcase precisely why white Italian marble was Michelangelo’s material of choice.
