Central importance: NOTTE

This is craftsmanship at its finest: with its 14 highly motivated employees, the Notte joinery from Bitburg/Eifel creates exclusive furniture and sophisticated interior fittings whose character and quality have been impressing customers from all over Germany and the world for decades. Founded in 1956, the company is currently headed by Willi Notte, the second generation of his family to run the business, and his eldest son plays an active role in the firm as head of production.

Continuity is evident elsewhere too: what was originally the workshop building has been converted into a light-flooded residence that doubles as a showroom. It treats visitors and customers alike to a casual and very convincing demonstration of the company’s conceptual prowess. At its calm centre stands a large table.

Besides enabling Willi Notte to pursue his passion for cabinetmaking, the design and production of his BELFAKTO table collection, which was launched in 2013, also gives the company a second line of business. The collection consists of 15 custom-sizeable solid wood tables that are available with eight different tabletop shapes.

And the collection is a success: models have been presented with design accolades every year – from the Interior Innovation Award, the Iconic Award and several German Design Awards all the way to the German Brand Award.

The BELFAKTO tables are just as suitable for private settings as they are for commercial interiors and are much sought-after in villas, hotels and showrooms all over the world – partly because customers can choose the wood and finish to suit their own individual preferences. “When passion takes shape” isn’t just the brand’s slogan, it’s a tradition that the company lives and breathes: the highly sophisticated constructions of the expressive frames are the product of many years spent thinking about the perception and identity of furniture, about its design, functionality, sensuousness and meaningfulness.
