×More than 60 years of company history, more than 60 years of inspiration and compelling visions of the future. For a long time now, Dornbracht has no longer been defining itself solely as a maker of premium design fittings and accessories "made in Germany", but also in terms of its role as an idea engine that provides sustainable cultural impetus – a role that extends far beyond the confines of bathroom and kitchen architecture. The company was founded by Aloys F. Dornbracht and his son Helmut in Iserlohn back in 1950. It was the invention of the extending spout – originally intended for the kitchen – that laid the foundations for the company's success. In 1992 Dornbracht launched "Tara", a minimalist fitting with clean lines created by Sieger Design. The progressive concept "Tara" is based on went on to become the archetype of the modern bathroom fitting. As such, it has been honoured with various international design awards and copied the world over.

×Today the company is headed by brothers Andreas and Matthias Dornbracht – the third generation of their family to run the business. Again and again, the many years it has dedicated to exploring the bathroom and kitchen as living spaces and investigating recurring activities prompt Dornbracht to pose new questions: How can processes be simplified? What can help us enhance our quality of life and gain more time? How do products and systems for the bathroom and kitchen have to be designed if they are to provide the greatest possible support in our day-to-day lives? In its search for answers, Dornbracht is developing system solutions today that address the challenges of tomorrow. New additions to the product range such as "Smart Water", "Sensory Sky" and the new, specialised outlets that were first presented in spring 2013 are a reflection of the brand's interpretation of "Culturing Life". They show how the abundance of technological options can be translated into solutions for the bathroom and kitchen – for more convenience, more benefits and more individuality. ASL
