New forms of work and organisational structures require flexible, aesthetic furnishings and tailor-made solutions that promote movement and communication. As one of the leading full-range suppliers, Sedus Stoll AG, based in Waldshut, develops, produces and sells office equipment and workplace concepts. Its focus is always on employees’ health. Three examples:

The se:works lounge furniture system combines aesthetic cosiness with ergonomic seating comfort. For laptop work, Sedus has developed, in addition to several table variants, a swivelling writing tablet which can be docked onto the frame structure. A power supply system supplies electricity, and smartphones and laptops can be charged wirelessly through the veneered shelf area. The linear frame elements are available in any desired length, and upholstery and shelf dimensions can be adjusted accordingly. In combination with round elements, seat landscapes in any size can be created. More than 200 breathable fabrics or fine aniline leather are available as covers.

se:line is a conference swivel chair that combines timeless design with dynamic functions. The technical highlight is the central support element, which connects the seat to the movable backrest and armrests. se:line recognises its users on first contact. The body’s own forces are transferred to the backrest via the armrests and converted into the appropriate backrest pressure. In the basic version, the carrier element and four-legged base are powder-coated in black or white aluminium. Backrests and seat upholstery can be covered with discreet and breathable fabrics. The premium version includes filigree polished-aluminium visible components, while the upholstery is crafted with aniline leather.

The office swivel chair Sedus se:joy impresses with its fresh membrane colours, which come into their own with filigree frames in black or light grey. Semi-transparent membranes in light grey or anthracite accentuate the graphic qualities. Designer Martin Ballendat has developed a reduced futuristic supporting structure, instead of a thick surrounding frame. The base is made out of a high-tech plastic that is covered with a breathable, one-piece membrane. The backrest is elastic and flexible, while the seating area is designed to support the seat. Technical features include an intuitively-operated height-adjustment mechanism with depth springing, a switchable rocker mechanism, and a five-star base on swivel castors. Sedus se:joy can be optionally upgraded with ergonomically-designed armrests.
