Polycarbonate marvels shape Edra’s Veronica collection

Further expanding the possibilities of extruded polycarbonate for Edra, Jacopo Foggini’s Veronica seating and table collection plays with materiality for a bold statement for a relaxed outdoor setting. The shell of Veronica’s low armchair appears like an elegant piece of embroidery, with a texture of solids and voids that is smooth to the touch, reflective and visually captivating, particularly when placed close to a light source.

In addition to this exquisite chair, the collection consists of three tables including a square, rectangular and irregularly shaped three-legged table. The armchair is an evolution of the Gina chair, also by Foggini, yet shaped in a thicker version. ‘Veronica is a true feat, the product of intense research,’ says the designer, ‘we have experimented with an unparalleled size of polycarbonate, which we had never used before, to make a large surface like that of the rectangular table.’

The alchemy of Veronica combines both artistry and practicality for outdoor use. Each handcrafted piece has its own unique transparencies of light and imperceptible nuances of its classic green colour evocative of natural glass. Yet simultaneously it is highly resistant and stable, with an ease of maintenance as the texture allows a direct jet of water to pass through it, welcoming convenient cleaning.
