One of Istanbul’s top art collectors has renovated an apartment in the first modernist building Antonio Gaudí designed in the Eixample. All design elements of the bathroom, from the materials to the textures and colours, are used to highlight the Nolla mosaic floors.

Pioneer Square Loft

2018

Designed by Corey Kingston for Plum Design, the brief for this loft located in Pioneer Square was to create an open-plan sanctuary for the client, with a timeless and neutral design. The bathroom is completely clad in charred Shou Sugi Ban, with a floor of black cement tiles, and is broken up into four separate rooms to maximise space. Corey Kingston is now the owner of Le Whit, a multi-disciplinary studio that practices in architectural and interior design.

Situated in the landmark Clocktower Building in Brooklyn's Dumbo neighbourhood, two distinct volumes act as the loft’s visual and organizational hub, with the perimeter of each offering panoramic city views. The central volume encloses an entry foyer, a powder room, a guest bath and other utility spaces.
