London Design Fair 2023 will have the LDNdesign Talks Theatre running throughout, with an inspiring line-up of world class designers and thought leaders.

As well as hundreds of cutting-edge pieces, immersive installations and unending inspiration, London Design Fair 2023 will also feature the LDNdesign Talks Stage (sponsored by OYOY Living Design) running throughout the Fair with an inspiring line-up of designers and thought leaders, sharing their tips, trends and experiences directly with a live audience.

The theatre programme is included in all tickets to the fair. Just book your ticket and then plan which of the fascinating talks you want to take a seat for. From having your interior design dilemmas answered by interior design expert Frank Newbold, to interactive workshops for you to learn first-hand from the experts – there is something for everyone!

Architonic Takeover – Thursday 21st Sep, from 1:30pm

On Thursday 21 September, Architonic will be taking over the LDNdesign Talks Stage for an afternoon of lively conversation with some of the architecture and design world's most celebrated practitioners.

Architonic Editor-in-Chief, Simon Keane-Cowell, will host four sessions with Pearson LloydUniversal Design Studio2LG Studio and Form Us With Love. The talks are designed to inform, inspire and entertain, covering not only the latest in projects, products and processes but also personal backstories. So, come and join the conversation!

Narrative matters: how interiors can (and should) tell stories – 1:30pm – 2pm

London-based 2LG Studio co-founders Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead discuss how and why they deploy storytelling in their projects, leveraging the histories of the spaces, as well as the experiences and identities of both their clients and themselves, to create interiors with a strong emotional quality.

At the vanguard of design innovation for healthcare, transport and the workplace for over a quarter of a century, Pearson Lloyd’s Luke Pearson and Tom Lloyd know a thing or two. In conversation with Architonic’s Editor-in-Chief, the duo share the key lessons their practice has taught them, highlighting projects and processes, and sharing personal anecdotes and professional advice.

Open House: architectural space in flux – 3:30pm – 4pm

Universal Design Studio principal Jason Holley discusses the role of architecture as a means of bringing people and ideas together, serving as a space for dialogue. He demonstrates, via a selection of notable projects, how spaces that are continually in a state of flux permit an ongoing negotiation between the individual, the collective and the institution.

Venture adventures: entrepreneurship for designers – 4:30pm – 5pm

Jonas Pettersson of celebrated Swedish design office Form Us With Love talks candidly about the business of design: the successes, the pitfalls, the right ideas at the wrong time, and the role that luck sometimes plays.

Other sessions include ‘Does varied experience and diverse backgrounds positively impact design?’ a panel conversation from [d]arc Media with Anuj Gala, Dara Huang, Sarah Cullen and Tola Ojuolape and ‘Design for Planet’, a conversation with Chief Design Officer of the Design Council Cat Drew about the critical role design has to play in the climate crisis.

London Design Fair will also be unveiling the winner of our inaugural Togetherness Design Awards, in collaboration with OYOY Living Design. An exciting new award for the design industry in 2023, the award comes with a prestigious prize; the winning designer will win the exclusive opportunity to work with OYOY to design, develop and manufacture their submitted product – including a working visit to the OYOY workshops in Denmark. Once finished, the product will then be exclusively listed with the online retailer Glassette for 3 months. Come see the finalists pitch their product to the OYOY judging panel at 11:30AM on Friday 22nd September, and return 4PM the same day the see the winner be announced.
