×Architecture, as an industry, has a great responsibility to treat the natural environment with respect and empathy. Whether a project involves new construction works, landscape restructuring, or both, it should complement the original landscape, helping to retain its inherent beauty.
Providing the right lighting arrangement to highlight an exterior space can have the greatest responsibility of all. Without careful consideration, the structure itself can easily be overshadowed, ruining the visual experience. When done properly and carefully, however, the right strategy can subtly change and improve how a user experiences a space, while extending the opening hours of a location into the night.
The hard-wearing, technical design of the fixture, a 2019 German Design Award winner, makes the Sun floodlights easy to install quickly and require little maintenance, keeping disruption to their natural environment to a minimum

×The Sun collection of floodlights, recently released by Italian manufacturer of architectural lighting, Platek, has been created specifically for projects with large projection distance requirements, large surfaces or open spaces. Featuring the latest LED technologies, the Sun range boasts a power-to-size ratio that even David (& Goliath) would be proud of, meaning each application can be smaller and less intrusive. While still achieving optimum lighting results, the small yet powerful floodlights can remain out of sight.
With a specific lens system and optical modules designed by Platek’s in-house light engineer team, the brand’s own design planners are equipped with the expertise to advise on the optimum application, ensuring the lighting design is in keeping with the location it’s highlighting.
With a variety of sizes and wattages, and white or dynamic light versions available, the Sun floodlight complements a large range of architectural or landscape projects, in residential or contract settings, securing and presenting their natural beauty for years to come.
