For Schönbuch, Sebastian Herkner designed SLOT, a minimalist wall-mounted wardrobe product line and TUB, a line with wardrobe and console table that unite basic geometric shapes in a playful way.
The SLOT wall-mounted wardrobe product line tells us that extreme simplicity needs to be
self-evident before its perfection can come across. These products prove this in a unique way.
Circular or elongated, rounded-off forms deliver an attractive geometrical message and are functional eyecatchers for both entrance and living area.
For the front panels an extensive choice of matt and high-gloss paint finishes is available, and there are also versions with a mirror or a glass front panel painted on the back or, since this season with a structured glass front. This is understatement with a kick to it.
In each case the spacer rods are in polished, chrome-plated steel
Creative individuality. A feature of the TUB product line is the taut interaction between right angles and curved surfaces. The result: a clear design statement, and of course maximum functional efficiency, interpreted in wood and steel.
The coat stand and console table have a solid wood frame. This can be in natural oiled oak, with a steel tray powder-coated in granite.
Or alternatively entirely in black with an open-pore paint finish for the oak frame.
The steel frame is ideal for shoes left in the hallway, but has many other practical uses as well. The coat stand can of course be used equally well in a bedroom or guest room.
The console table is ideal for storage in a living room or an office. These craft highlights represent a style upgrade for any room.
An innovative combination of traditional craftsmanship and new technologies – this is the basis on which Sebastian Herkner develops his work. While studying at the HfG (University of Art and Design) in Offenbach, he spent a placement period with Stella McCartney in London. In 2006 he opened his own studio in Offenbach, and since then has numbered international furniture and lifestyle brands among his clients. Sebastian Herkner’s work has gained various leading design awards. It includes interior outfitting projects and a position as lecturer at the HfG. His creative processes exhibit a clear foundation in functionality and sustainability. For Schönbuch, Sebastian Herkner designed the TUB product line with coat stand and console table, and SLOT, a minimalist wall-mounted wardrobe product line.
