MAGGIORI INFORMAZIONI SU ATELIER PAGNAMENTA TORRIANI
Profile
Established in 1992, Atelier Pagnamenta Torriani is an architectural design firm.
“From a stylistic point of view, their work is extremely refined, based on ideas about strong content, and the purity of their architectural forms implies restraint and respect for essential values” Controspazio, by C. Finucci, 1998.
The partners are both graduates of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH-Z) and have been practicing in New York City for over 20 years. They founded the firm after winning First Prize in the Westside Waterfront Competition and since then have been interested in Civic Architecture.
The ETH-Z imbued a sense of environmental responsibility, which to this day is the base of each design produced by Atelier Pagnamenta Torriani. Passive technologies, such as use of natural light and low energy cooling, as well as sustainability measures as high efficiency lighting, utilizing recycled building components into the design and economy of means are constantly present in our projects.
Atelier has always had very dedicated personnel congenial with our philosophy.
Atelier partners and projects have received awards for design excellence and creative design, including the Public Design Commission 2008 Award for Excellence in Design; the American Institute of Architects Citation Award for Interior Architecture and First Prize in the Westside Waterfront Competition.
A commitment to high quality innovative design is deeply rooted in the firm’s history from projects for private art organizations and international assignments for Academic Institutions to civic facilities on behalf of the Department of Design & Construction, the Housing Authority, the School Construction Authority and the New York Public Library.
Pagnamenta Torriani Architects Planners LLP is a Women-Owned Business Entity.
