Profile
FEM is a Danish design studio focusing on furniture and interior design. The studio is Aarhus based and consists of the design duo Anders Engholm and Sarah Cramer.
“We are two designers with two very different backgrounds and different personalities. We believe the interaction between the difference and our various competences is what makes FEM unique and gives us the opportunity to bring something new to the design scene.”
FEM was founded during the two designers studies back in October 2013 and is now a fast growing studio in Aarhus. Since then FEM have received great recognition for their design and been shortlisted for several design awards; Hay Talent Award 2014, Danish Entrepeneurship Award 2014, IMM Pure Talents Award 2015. Furthermore they received a travelgrant for young and upcoming designers from BO BEDRE in October 2014.
Philosophy
The philosophy of FEM is based on interactions between the two designers, their diversity and mixed competences.
Our philosophy is that design should be seen as well as felt. Therefore, the balancing act between functionality and aesthetics is the main focus when we design. Our passion is to design products and spaces that will push traditional boundaries and arouse curiosity.
We aim to design the perfect solution that fulfills our customers’ expectations but also to challenge design methods in general and to gain new experiences in the process.
