Profile
Is a german architectural photographer based in Cologne, Germany. Guido studied at the University of Cologne (1992 – 1997) and started assisting various photographers. Since 2002 he works as a freelance architectural photographer based in Cologne. In the beginning of 2003 he gained acknowledgement as an artist through "Handwerkskammer Köln".
I feel photography as a very delightful mixture of art, technology and organization, because I have the feeling that I can acquire a part of the world on the screen. "I organize the cutout." It is great fun to explore shapes, spaces and proportions, so I decided to specialize in architectural photography. The beginnings of photography are also closely linked to the architectural subject, and the intimate relationship between them is thus far behind.
The first photograph was also an architectural picture. I prefer to work outdoors, outside the studio, and appreciate the discipline needed for still life. Architectural photography offers the perfect solution. The light in the open can not be controlled as in the studio and light always plays a decisive role in photography. So each building is always different.
