I-CONICALS is a company that, at the moment produces only one item. A Desk!
And what a desk it is . An Icon in the world of the desks you can say. Even in a wider setting, furniture, it is truly an Icon. That is why it is named the “Icon Desk”.

The designer Michiel van der Kley has as arrived in this effort at a truly beautiful and simple, even minimal appearance . A desk or table as many people address it, that stands out by its serenity and impresses through its flowing lines. Only three materials are visible, Corian a solid surface material, one of three available wood sorts and the stainless steel legs of the desk.
Meanwhile a strong steel frame is hidden underneath the surface to give the Icon desk a very strong structure where you can easily sit on. One or two, left or right hand side drawers versions are available on order. The desk comes in two different lengths, 1800 or 2100 mm.

The white Corian surface can be complemented either with solid natural Oak, American Walnut or smoked Oak.

The men actually doing it are two longtime friends. They met in secondary school when they were fifteen. And they managed to keep in contact ever sins, even when Jan Willem migrated to Australia. When he eventually returned to Holland it turned out that both of them had educated themselves to be cabinetmakers and after that to become designers.

Carlo has been working as a product developer in the development team of furniture factory Arco for 27 years. When Arco decided to remove the Icon Desk from their collection and stopped producing it, the idea arose to bring this product back to market and start a new company that focuses on the production of the Icon desk and related products. It is because Carlo stood at the cradle of the development process of the Icon Desk and thus knows all ins and outs, he developed a special love for this product.

Apart from being self-employed as an industrial and interior designer Jan Willem was active in Health care where he introduced the concept of Healing Environment in several Dutch hospitals. Now both retired from their jobs, they felt like having another life to do fulfilling things. The whole idea resulted in the establishment of the company I-CONICALS in January 2018.

Together with the designer Michiel van der Kley, some new developments will appear in the I-CONICALS concept in the coming period.
