Paolo Iotti and Marco Pavarani
Profile
IOTTI + PAVARANI ARCHITETTI is an Italian architectural firm distinguished for creating projects that integrate balance and innovative capacity with architectural, town planning and landscaping skills and for its constant research activity. The firm is involved in projects that range from the scale of the design to the masterplan and currently works in both the public and private sectors. Its projects and achievements include work environments (offices, commercial spaces, production buildings), public buildings and spaces for culture, sports facilities, residential buildings and renovations as well as urban development plans and landscape works.
Over the years the firm has highlighted its ability to design architecture successfully inserted into prestigious urban and landscape contexts and based on the principles of environmental, social and economic sustainability. The aim is to identify programme, compositional and material strategies capable of producing dense inserts in the landscape in the ongoing attempt to confer new “energies” to the contexts it works in, “energies” in keeping with the often unexpressed potential of the sites themselves.
IOTTI + PAVARANI ARCHITETTI, established in 2001 by Paolo Iotti and Marco Pavarani, has received more than 20 awards in architecture and urban design competitions as well as national and international recognitions for the creation of architecture characterized by the constant ability to innovate but, at the same time, perfectly inserted into the context. One of the first important achievements was the prize received in the international competition to design the New Stadium of Siena, with a design acclaimed for its successful insertion into the landscape.
From then on IOTTI + PAVARANI ARCHITETTI continued with the development of design research that enabled the firm to achieve successful works, such as the Domus Technica advanced training centre for renewable energies for which it has obtained several awards. The research and production of the firm, in addition to being presented in important exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale, have gained attention in the national and international press.
