KplusK associates are an experienced group of Architects and Designers based in Hong Kong, committed to the production of integrated modern Architecture. The Company has established themselves as one of the leading Architects for luxury residential, hotel and serviced apartment developments in Asia. With each project, KplusK aim to create highly personalized environments, combining ergonomic and technological concerns, without compromising the pursuit of a dynamic, heterogeneous, sensual viscosity.
KplusK’s mantra is that “Sensuality in Architecture must also engage with the issues of sustainability, energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.” KplusK currently expands on these tenets in eight different Countries regionally.
KplusK’s credentials are proven by the award winning buildings, interiors and competition projects they have designed, as well as the Director’s academic and professional qualifications. KplusK have won over 38 regional and international design awards.
Biography
KplusK’s Directors, Mr Johnny Kember & Mr Paul Kember established their first Design Company in London in 1984. JK relocated to Hong Kong in June 1992 and KplusK associates was inaugurated in March 1996.
Together, the twins have built up a wealth of combined experience of working in the Far East (Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Bali, Singapore, Macau and Malaysia) as well as Europe (England, France, Italy, Sweden), Australia, Russia and the USA. The design studio now comprises of 28 dedicated Design professionals hailing from eight different countries.
Both Directors are trained as architects in the UK (Johnny gained his Masters degree in Architecture at the Royal College of Art, London. Paul received his Masters degree in the Bartlett School of Architecture, University of London) and have registered the practice under charter to the Royal Institute of British Architects. Both Directors have also served as Assistant Professors of Architecture at the University of Hong Kong.
