Almost 70 years of experience in lighting make up the company history of Dinnebier Licht GmbH with its own brand Licht im Raum. Dinnebier Licht stands for professional lighting design and luminaire production. All Licht im Raum products are produced in the company’s own manufactory in Solingen and show a love of detail and craftsmanship in a variety of ways.
The company was founded by the first lighting designer of his time, Johannes Dinnebier, and his wife Elisabeth Dinnebier, in 1956 and has been run by Daniel Klages and Jule Dinnebier since 1999.
Licht im Raum is known in German-speaking countries for its high-quality and puristic luminaires, and around fifty percent of the entire lamp production is already exported. The lights are sold via a selective, worldwide distributor network and via professional planners and interior designers.
All luminaire designs are created in­house to this day. The brand is also supported by a substantial sustainability concept, which is backed up by a long­term quality promise: Handmade in Solingen/Germany.

Engineering and product design
A team of lighting planners, architects as well as experienced metalworkers, designers and engineers design and produce the carefully designed luminaires of the Licht im Raum brand for more than 40 years. These include the lighting families Ocular, Master, Dione, Stilio, Stilio Uno, White Moons, Glass Moons, Maylily, Big Moons and others. Spacious ateliers and workshops provide optimal workspaces for the focal points of professional lighting design and manufacture of Licht im Raum products. In this environment, a team of lighting designers carries out the planning of public and private projects, including the lighting design of historical buildings and churches. A completely new layout was also developed for the manufactory so that all work processes, from product design to production of semi­finished products and assembly, are perfectly coordinated. The in­house showroom, Lichtturm ­Solingen,serves as a creative think tank.

Traditional craftsmanship
While new design ideas are developed in creative environments, all our lamps are produced right here in the manufactory. Step by step. In traditional craftsmanship. We use high-quality materials such as porcelain, stainless steel, glass or brass. Our products are designed for lifelong usage and we make sure that they are repairable and upgradeable. Our products have received numerous awards. Our work has now been awarded the ‘German Manufactory Seal’, honouring ‘world-renowned, valued and desired top-quality products, which are mainly manufactured by hand in Germany’.

Sustainability
Over the years we have upheld a strong commitment to sustainability, regional focus and perfect traditional craftsmanship. Sustainability is reflected in all our business divisions: in design and technology, eco­logically and socially.
Our new, holistic manufactory offers perfect conditions for sustainable production. We are particularly proud of our large photovoltaic system on the roof – which generates more energy than consumed in the building. Our showroom Lichtturm Solingen also derives renewable energies – from its own ground-source heat pump.

Special luminaires
Projects are often unique and require special solutions. The production in our own manufactory allows us to offer custommade products that adapt perfectly to the respective room situation and leave nothing to be desired.
