A small award wining architectural office, established in Buenos Aires. The office has the capacity for concretion of architecture and urban design in the most diverse range of scales and programmes from urban interventions to interior designs. The work experience the office has, with both public and private clients, has provided the team with the required flexibility in order to accomplish the client’s desires and needs with an exhaustive cost control.
Building without technical conflicts a new, alternative and vigorous idea has been always the aim of the office and its collaborators. The office work have been published both nationally and internationally. Najmias Office for Architecture has been sponsored by the Secretary of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires and by the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Biography
Oliverio Najmias, Dipl. Architect FADU, UBA
Buenos Aires, Argentina 1975. Graduated architect at FADU, UBA -best 3% of his class -in 2000- and at the same institution he continues his postgraduate studies. He has been Assistant Professor at the UBA at the departments of History, Theory and Thesis Tutor in Urban Project. At the present time he is Assistant Professor in the Studio Design department at the UBA. He had been Assistant Professor at the Postgraduate School at Universidad Torcuato DiTella and Guest Professor at the University of Talca [Chile]. Invited as Lecturer to the conference New Visions New Architectures at the MArq [National Museum of Architecture] and commissioned by the Cultural Secretary of the City of BA the construction of an installation in Estudio Abierto Puerto Madero 06.
He had collaborated in competitions with different practices, among them Najmias-DeLaFuente- DiTata, PAC and Varas with whom he obtained prizes and mentions, both nationally and internationally. His last collaboration has been with the Dutch office MVRDV. Besides, he co-designed the TES project, being the only professional project from the South Cone invited to be exhibited at the 1st. Rotterdam Architectuur Biënnale [The Netherlands] and at the end of 2002 he was honoured with the Silver Prize at the Design Beyond East and West Competition [Korea]. SCA Honour Court Member since 2005 Partner at najmias | arquitectos since 2001, in 2007 he establishes Najmias Office for Architecture.
