Patrick Norguet si avvicina agli oggetti e al design da una prospettiva grafica. Fin dall'infanzia ha preferito i taccuini da disegno ai libri di testo, riempiendoli di schizzi e bozzetti. Un approccio "pratico" agli studi industriali e di design a Parigi (ESDI) segna il profilo insolito di questo ribelle costruttivo.
La sua carriera ha subito una svolta straordinaria nel 2000, quando Giulio Cappellini ha notato la sua ormai famosa Rainbow Chair. Entra a far parte della cerchia dei designer che contano e crea il suo studio parigino. Da allora, progetta per grandi produttori e marche rinomate.
Per Patrick Norguet, il design è prima di tutto sinonimo di incontri felici. Ciò che più lo appassiona è lo scambio con i produttori, la scoperta del loro know-how; l'impulso di un'intenzione creativa affinata da vincoli tecnici, da aspetti economici e dalle aspettative dell’utilizzatore che spera di conquistare in modo discreto ma duraturo.
