Our furniture is our contribution to the work-life balance. The working world is strenuous enough which is why we create antipoles. Places of relaxation. Lounge, waiting and rest areas. Whether for the office, the airport or the home. We think that everyone deserves to be able to sit down here and feel comfortable.

But there is more to our philosophy:
As a family company, we are characterised by honest, reliable and cooperative relationships with our customers and suppliers. We keep our promises. This down to earth mentality is our basis for innovative ideas and creative solutions with added value which continuously set positive signals on the market.

For us, the office is, to a certain extent, home. Not only because we are a family managed company but also due to our philosophy: we want you to feel comfortable. Also of course at work. Like we do. We therefore develop furniture which functions like small oases of calm in the office.

OUR SUCCESS STORY

1994

SMV is established by Felix Brünger as a subsidiary of FEBRÜ.

1995

SMV operates independently.
Inge Brünger-Mylius takes over the company.

2001

Successful presentation: with the company’s
first exhibition we strengthen awareness of our furniture.

2006

So many ideas – it is time to realise them! We develop our first own products.

2010

We publish the first 3D planning data. Our flame-retardant furniture is certified according to fire protection regulations.

2012

When it comes to the modern working world, we are the specialists: we present our furniture at the ORGATEC for the first time.

2014

Won! We are awarded the “Plus X Award” as the most innovative brand of the year.

2015

Another reason to celebrate: we win the award of the inter airport Europe in the category “interDesign”. We are also nominated for the “German Design Award” and given a Special Mention.

2016

Seating with Visions- point landing on the moon to Orgatec 2016. 4six (Special Mention) and Manhattan HighBack (Winner) win the German Design Award. 4six and Kuan also receive the Iconic Award "Selected".

2017

A reason to celebrate: we win “German Brand Award” in the category "Employer Branding". The certification for the environment ISO 14001:2015 is successful completed as well as the re-certification of ISO 9001:2015.

2018

Managing director Inge Brünger-Mylius annouces her son Björn Mylius to second managing director within the family business. We also received the FSC recertification. Once again we were nominated with a lounge furniture for the "German Design Award".
