MAGGIORI INFORMAZIONI SU VIABLE LONDON
Viable, the exciting and innovative London design studio recently launched their 2006 range at the Salone Satellite in the new Milan Fairground at Rho-Pero. Their work gained considerable attention, with interest from both press and the manufacturing industry.
Viable, currently consisting of Magnus Long, Charles Trevelyan and Gala Wright, was conceived in mid 2005 when the three met while exhibiting individually in Milan. They launched with an exhibition in King's Cross, London that was described by Icon magazine in their recent guide as a “spectacular show – and memorable party.” Incorporating 400 square metres of floor space, the show featured 17 new pieces ranging from lighting to furniture to a large four-poster bed, and kicked off with live music from the Transit Kings and customised vodka cocktails. The exhibition won "Best Appearance During a Trade Show" at the 2005 Hidden Art annual awards.
The underlying principle behind Viable is to produce creative designs that are desirable and can be commercially manufactured. Each designer has had success and recognition in their own right and now collaborate and exhibit new work together, driving the standard of their own designs. Collective experience includes work for prestigious companies such as CORO, Heal's, Innermost, 2pm and twentytwentyone.
Most recently, the studio has been asked by the Design Museum to exhibit work as part of the annual Design Mart exhibition that takes place during the London Design Festival in September 2006.
