zo2 architecture – good design embraces nature
zo2 was established in 2003 by Patrick Zumwald and Stefanie Overbeck. The name represents our partnership and the team members who make up our practice. It is a formula, which signifies the power of teamwork and has one aim: to provide quality and added value to our clients.
Stefanie and Patrick are both actively involved in the industry on an academic level, supporting the idea of interdisciplinary freedom of thought in the context of artistic, manual, technical and scientific projects.
Both speak English, German and French fluently and support a “no borders” culture within their office and with external partners.
The zo2 office is located in the heart of Lausanne on the shores of Lake Geneva in Switzerland. We work within a Swiss as well as international network.
Philosophy
Our passion is architecture that is simple in its form and is in union with the environment. We consciously apply a low-tech attitude in working with renewable and recycled materials, combined with a high-tech approach to building systems in order to improve performance and output.
Our mission is to provide our clients with an unparalleled level of service across the spectrum of architectural planning, design and interiors, project development and construction estimates. We want to provide an environment that is enjoyable and welcoming and we want to encourage our customers to tap into their creativity and explore their personal style.
Our vision is to be Europe’s foremost ecological architectural design practice with a global reach, aiming to exhaust the limits of conventional architecture and design.
