Bright young things OK. It may officially be summer for most of us now – at least in the Northern Hemisphere – but allow us to offer you one more news-shot from the last in our Spring Extra series of Product Focus... Here, you'll find Wagner, Et al., Christian Fischbacher and PVD concept, all putting their best foot forward with new products for 2020 that are strong on innovation and sustainability. | | Centrist thinking At their core, German seating specialists Wagner are interested in the well-being of humans and this is well-embodied in their award-winning, Stefan Diez-designed D1 chair collection. And at its core, in turn, lies the Dondola® 4D mechanism. While appearing simple, the mechanism allows movement on four axes, responding to the user’s every movement, however minute. In doing so, it simultaneously supports and challenges the body – delivering a workout without even having to leave the comfort of your seat. For specifiers, who have the well-being of clients as well as the success of their projects in mind, D1 makes a compelling argument. | | Three cheers for Et al. 2020 sees Italian contract experts Et al. (formerly Metalmobil) teaming up with designers Luca Nichetto, Marc Sadler and Francesco Meda to release three new chair and table ranges to add to their existing line-up. Nichetto’s versatile Classy family comprises a chair, armchair and footstool, with comfort and function in perfect lockstep. Marc Sadler’s Milos table collection, meanwhile, is characterised by stability and sturdiness. It’s available in three different heights variations and also with a round or square tabletop. Plus, it’s 100% recyclable. Finally, Francesco Meda’s visually light Snap chair and stool collection, fashioned from polypropylene and steel pipes, come in versions with or without armrests, and in a wide variety of colours. In short, three first-class solutions for contract settings. | | Natural talent Few companies can boast of having been in business for over two centuries. Christian Fischbacher – the luxury, global textile brand with its roots in St Gallen, Switzerland – happens to be one of them. The reasons for such longevity are many, but not least the ability to adapt, look forward and innovate. Take their Red Dot Award 2020-winning BENU TALENT FR fabrics, for example. Made from yarn that is 70% derived from used PET bottles, they’re the latest addition to the BENU collection, which was first launched back in 2009 when Art Director Camilla Fischbacher embraced the potential of this kind of sustainable textile. Weatherproof, lightfast and flame-retardant, it has a multitude of applications and is available in 30 vivid colours. | | NONA MINI ‘NONA’ is one of the best-known products in pvdconcept’s outdoor lighting collection. You can find this model all the way from Italy to the Spanish island of Ibiza. We are proud to announce the ‘NONA’ is going to have a little brother, the NONA MINI. | | And want to advertise in a future issue? | | | | |
