Peat used as insulation in- and outdoors is a centuries old technology that lends itself to new projects. Swedish designer Johanna Örn is fascinated by the tactile and functional material, and proposes an updated use in acoustic wall panels. She blends the raw and intensely natural expression of peat with a contemporary straightforward Swedish design attitude. ’I take great solace in nature walks, ’ says Johanna Örn. ’I’m inspired by all forms, materials, structures, and the variety of colors I find. Earth is born out of nature’s own organic form language, while at the same time the water cut layers alludes to topographic maps.’
