INTRO
In ARoS Food Hall you enter into a food gallery. Here ARoS wishes to give its guests an experience that merges food and art. The raw materials and ingredients make their way out of the kitchen into the dining hall and become part of the interior design and the experience for the guests.
THE INTERIOR DESIGN
The interior design in ARoS Food Hall reflects the focus of the kitchen on Nordic ingredients, by using materials such as oak, leather and brass. To underline the long elegant shape of the space, a 10 meter long bench lined with calf skin leather is designed to run the length of the wall and create unity. As a contrast the choice of different types of tables are meant to create variety; some are big and rounded, others are small and intimate and situated at the bar is a high long table that encourages guests to join each other in social dining. At the far end of ARoS Food Hall a light metal construction filled with green, aromatic plants unites the concepts of practical design and aesthetics. The beautiful wall of plants underline ARoS Food HallĀ¹s focus on ecology and regional ingredients, but can also be turned 90 degrees and function as a space divider and create a more intimate atmosphere.
Hung in the large west facing windows are light and transparent curtains that stretch from ceiling to floor and provide a soft and filtered light. The ceiling is opened up to its full height making room for over 100 small brass pendant lamps arranged as a starry sky under the rainbow that crowns ARoS.
THE FOOD GALLERY
The food at ARoS Food Hall is served as small experiences. The focus is on ecology, the local and regional ingredients of the season and goods produced in the herb garden on the roof top of ARoS. The activities of the kitchen spread out into the Food Hall through wine cabinets, maturing cabinets for meat, shelfs filled with jarred and pickled ingredients and a green wall of herbs. Towards the kitchen the space is opened up by adding a glass window allowing the guests to view the culinary arts in the food gallery.
