Taizu Restaurant

Situated in South-East Asia, new restaurant Taizu – in Tel-Aviv – embraces rich western influences. Israeli architect Pitsou Kedem, who has won numerous awards from the “Israeli Design Award Competition”, helped design the project. The restaurant boasts a sophisticated, harmonious language (a characteristic trait of the designer) inspired by five fundamental elements of ancient Chinese philosophy: fire, water, metal, wood and earth.

Although western culture serves as a major source of inspiration, Asia is heavily celebrated in the reinterpretation of traditional local food by chef Yuval Ben Neria and evoked through the interior and lighting design. Banana leaves motifs are incorporated into the restaurant’s design in major way. They’re imagery is on the dividing panels (Taizu is divided into various intimate spaces). This was done to underline the special character of the restaurant. Interior designers Sigal Baranowitz and Gali Amit have selected the light, ethereal lines of Foscarini's Allegro and Allegretto lamps for the dning rooms, communal areas and the distinctive wine cellar.

The aluminium elements making up the eye-catching Allegro and Allegretto suspension lamps, designed by Atelier Oï, interweave in a delicate way that produces a beautiful chime when set in motion. This "musicality" has inspired the names of the three versions of Allegro, which differ in size and color - Allegro Ritmico, Allegro Vivace and Allegro Assai. All of this comes together in Allegretto – a collection created from a reduction and reinterpretation of the Allegro lamps. These Foscarini lamps give a perfect touch of magic and sophistication to any contract environment.
