Defensie Eiland

Stripped of its original defensive function, a unique living environment has been created on the characteristic peninsular. Alongside our role as designer of five residential blocks, we are also the co-ordinating and delivery for the whole project. To the side of the town centre and Woerden Castle, Scala Architecten have designed dwellings inspired by the elegant townhouses and charming town park by the Oostdam, so that the island is read as part of the Woerden canal, which surrounds the compact town centre.
