The true 1970´s pearl
The newly renovated Hanaholmen offers visitors a unique and capturing atmosphere. The beautifully renovated cultural institute welcomes guests to the new lobby bar and the revised restaurant, hotel rooms and conference facilities. KOKO3 was responsible for the interior design of Hanaholmen. The building is originally from 1975 and is a valuable piece of Finnish 1970´s architecture, design and art history. The cultural institute´s interior design bows to the original interior but pairs it up with contemporary design. The renovation covers the lobby areas, the restaurant, the auditorium and the conference rooms as well as hotel rooms. A number of unique furniture and features were designed especially for Hanaholmen, for example beautiful hand blown glass lights which were named after the cultural institute. Half of Hanaholmen´s 66 hotel rooms were redesigned. Svenskt Tenn - the Swedish design house - was a source of inspiration for the new hotel room concept.
