A meticulously restored Victorian in Paddington terrace that seamlessly blends heritage charm with contemporary elegance. Thoughtful design, luxurious finishes, and sustainable upgrades create a timeless and functional family home.

The client sought to create a luxurious home for their growing family while embracing the classic charm of the Victorian terrace. Their vision was to celebrate and enhance the home’s traditional features while introducing new spaces that felt contemporary yet respectful of the heritage aesthetic. The design emphasised a seamless blend of old and new, ensuring that modern additions paid homage to the property’s historical character.

All finishes were carefully selected to exude luxury and timelessness, incorporating high-quality materials and refined detailing throughout. The result is a sophisticated and enduring family home that balances elegance with functionality, meeting the client’s desire for a beautifully curated living environment.

This renovation involved restoring and modernising a historic terrace while preserving its character. Retaining the original timber-lined attic required meticulous dirt and dust removal. Re-roofing had to be done in good weather to avoid damage, with limited access from the top down.

With no front garden, all work took place over the public footpath, prioritising pedestrian safety. A protected London plane tree required careful planning to avoid damage. Internal walls were hand-demolished to prevent vibrations affecting neighbouring properties, and the common wall was underpinned for stability.

To maintain the home’s aesthetics, all services were concealed beneath a new subfloor, and a vertical discharge air conditioning unit was discreetly installed in the garage. The garage roof was temporarily removed to facilitate excavation and demolition, reducing costs and improving access. This project successfully balanced heritage preservation with modern functionality.
