×In the last ten to fifteen years, Leicht Küchen AG has undergone an impressive development: it has evolved from a quality manufacturer based in Swabia to a globally accepted brand. The company is located in the midst of the picturesque Ostalb area and, with its workforce of 520 employees, produces its kitchens on site – and thus entirely in Germany. The result: highly functional kitchens with a timeless, cosmopolitan design and a vocabulary of clear-cut forms.

×Stefan Waldenmaier, chairman of the company's management board since 2002, puts it in a nutshell: "What makes our brand so special are the many different possibilities we offer. No matter what the customer wants, we can do it." Due to this abundance of variations, Leicht kitchens blend in effortlessly with contemporary, modern design and promote harmonious interaction between the architecture and the interior space. "We can meet individual requests right down to the last centimetre," says Waldenmaier. Whether they are installed in a house with a spectacular view in Austin, Texas by Dick Clark Architecture or fitted in a sensational water tower with a cube docked onto it in central London by Mike Collier Architects, kitchens by Leicht Küchen are at home in modern, groundbreaking architecture all over the world.

×The company has thus come a long way since it was founded by the brothers Alois and Josef Leicht as a cabinetmaking business back in 1928 – and has helped shape the face of modern kitchen architecture in the 21st century. Once banished into a cramped space and concealed behind closed doors, the kitchen has long since moved to the very heart of the house. Open layouts, prestigious interiors: in its new-found role as a natural part of our home lives, the kitchen is becoming the focal point of the living space. The features that set Leicht kitchens apart are their serene lines, sleek, uninterrupted surfaces and an authentic use of materials. "Our team has lots of ideas. And our creative pool drives innovations forward," explains Waldenmaier.
Neat and tidy: tall cabinets with pantry pullouts provide plenty of space for kitchen equipment.

×A current example: the filigree illuminated shelving unit "Xtend+" is a global first featuring louver-like blinds that open at the push of a button to reveal the neat interior. Adjustable shelves structure the storage space and, thanks to the LED chips built into their front edges, not only provide light but create illuminated accents as well. In no small part, Leicht kitchens owe their elegant looks to their often handleless fronts, their harmoniously aligned joins and an understated use of colour and materials. With 51 different styles and more than 2000 colours, the Leicht collection offers an abundance of choices.
Another special feature: even the materials used for cover panels, wall panels or glass elements are available in every size and colour imaginable, thus permitting a highly individual design – which can also be extended to the living area to create an integrated and consistent overall look.
