COR Lab is the programmatic title of an innovation project by German seating-furniture manufacturer COR, in which four design teams developed ideas for future workplaces. The aim of the collaboration between young and experienced designers was to develop comfortable furniture for homely areas in which communication, work and relaxation is possible – whether in open-plan or home offices. The six furniture designs can be seen at the COR Haus in Rheda-Wiedenbrück and at the imm in Cologne from 15 to 21 January 2018.

In March 2016, four design teams started work on the project: Uwe Fischer from Frankfurt/Main, Studio Aust & Amelung from Kassel, RelvãoKellermann from Munich and Pauline Deltour from Paris. They developed the new furniture models independently of each other. Uwe Fischer designed the height-adjustable Level table and the Bridge upholstered bench; Miriam Aust and Sebastian Amelung the Bond model family, with stationary and mobile occasional furniture and side tables; Ana Relvão and Gerhardt Kellermann the Chart configurable room-divider system; and Pauline Deltour the Drop stackable upholstered stool as well as the uphxolstered sofas and armchairs with the Floater storage system.

At the joint presentation in the manufacturer’s development department, the potential for positioning the furniture as a compatible ensemble in the sense of a collection quickly revealed itself. With this new collection, COR appeals to all target groups, home decorators and property planners alike. The premium brand as usual interprets the fusion of living and working environments in its own unique way, with comfortable, individually-designed furniture whose emotionality almost makes you forget the work factor.
