Scandinavian design meets environmental awareness and a distinctive re- and upcycling mentality. Founded in 1990 in Tibro, Sweden, furniture-brand Offecct with its considerable portfolio is now expanding to Milan.
As illustrated by the clear line of the upholstered furniture series Avignon, designed by French designer and former member of the Memphis Group Christophe Pillet, or the playful, filigree contours of the Dune seating island, designed by the Swedish design-studio Front, when it comes to creative work, Offecct’s furniture manufacturers have access to talented, top-class designers and architects, who skilfully implement the spirit of the brand. Among the many world-famous designers who work for the company are Jasper Morrison, Neri & Hu, Alfredo Häberli, Nendo and Karim Rashid. A new entrant to the sector, Japanese designer Jin Kuramoto recently designed the Jin chair collection comprising stable and lightweight chairs made of either carbon fibres or 100 % organic flax fibres, for the company. The Offecct Lab always tries to exploit the potential of design, technology and sustainability aspects and to cast them in charismatic shapes. The company is therefore on a journey that it will be interesting to keep track of.
