Under the motto ‘Time for more’, the internationally active wood-based materials specialist based in Austria has updated its much-appreciated collection for furniture and interior design, including new planning tools.

×EGGER is, without question, a specialist when it comes to decorative surfaces. Authentic results in appearance and texture, an exemplary approach to aspects of sustainability – in particular recyclability – and the use of wood-based and healthy raw materials convince even the most hardened advocates of ‘real’ materials.
EGGER breathes life into its wood-based materials for furniture and interior design with more than 300 decor/texture combinations – available within the Decorative Collection 24+ since the beginning of February. Another new feature is the rolling collection concept, which will provide architects, dealers and fabricators with new decors updated by the company's own trend and design team at least every two years. At the same time, the wood-based materials specialist promises a binding availability period for all decors.
Thanks to a matt lacquer finish, the new TM12 PerfectSense Omnipore Matt surface reduces light reflections. This gives dark wood reproductions in particular an elegant and natural appearance

×New variety with planning security
‘This rolling concept allows us to react more quickly to trends, new influences and product innovations. Despite shorter update cycles, we guarantee that all new products will remain in the range for at least four years, thus creating planning security for our customers' projects,’ summarises Hubert Höglauer, Head of Product Management and Marketing Furniture and Interior Design. At the same time, this means that from now on there will be no completely new editions of the Decorative Collection.

This is a clever move at a time when the need for security and flexibility is growing against the backdrop of multiple crises of unmanageable complexity. For the interior world, this means ‘products for the future must be both reliable and adaptable,’ as Klaus Monhoff, Head of EGGER Decor and Design Management, explains. In general, the cool, unapproachable minimalism of earlier years is giving way to warmth, cosiness and emotion. Also, ‘the ongoing black trend means that our decors have to be combinable with black at any time. And, at the same time, there has been a further development in matt surfaces. It is no longer just plain colours that are in demand, but also wood and material reproductions. We cater to this with our broad PerfectSense Matt range, for example,’ says the design expert.
Two trends in harmony: With the help of the PerfectSense Matt range from EGGER it is possible to create distinctly dark, almost black surfaces with a matt appearance. The anti-fingerprint property makes them particularly easy to clean

×Perfect reproductions
This is what the new variety looks like: from laminated decor boards with chipboard or MDF core to lightweight boards, laminates and a comprehensive range of edgebands (including 29 variants of accent and end grain edgebands), there are exactly 201 decors in the Eurodekor range in the EGGER decor and material mix – a whole 68 of which are completely new. There are also 19 new products among the now 32 decor/texture combinations within the PerfectSense lacquered board range. Moreover, the wood-based materials manufacturer has developed a total of eleven new surface textures for the Decorative Collection 24+. And the compact board range has been expanded to 110 variants.
‘Products for the future must be both reliable and adaptable’
One example: the new TM12 PerfectSense Omnipore Matt surface with a lacquer finish that reduces light reflections, giving dark wood reproductions a sophisticated and natural appearance. The anti-fingerprint properties of the surface are an absolute plus. The new ST40 Feelwood Oakgrain is just as impressive because it looks and feels amazingly authentic. While the striking wood pore gets its character thanks to a matt-in-matt finish of the synchronised pore surface, the indentations running precisely in line with the decor pattern realistically imitate the wood grain. Another texture highlight is the brushed metal look of the ST20 Metal Brushed – a real eye-catcher!

×There are now 75 different decor/texture combinations for worktops. Authentic and timeless materials such as slate and travertine are increasingly in demand. The two textures ST76 Mineral Rough Matt and ST78 Mineral Granite, for example, impress with their pleasant feel.

×Interlocking planning tools: app, web and capsule concept
You may now be wondering how you can keep track of all the products in your portfolio. For your peace of mind, the company has addressed this by expanding its seamlessly interlocking, analog and digital service offering. Besides the tried-and-tested physical collection folder and the redesigned website, there is now a revised EGGER Decorative Collection App and EGGER Virtual Design Studio. With the latter, end users, as well as architects and fabricators, have the opportunity to visualise countless surface combinations via browser in pre-staged room environments.
With the Capsule concept, EGGER rounds off its seamlessly interlocking analog and digital service offering. All decors in a capsule can be freely combined – pictured: ‘Muted Greens’ for naturally inspired interiors

×Parallel to the new Decorative Collection 24+, the wood-based materials specialist is also establishing a new type of decor advice and combination recommendation: the EGGER Capsule Concept. ‘Derived from the “Capsule Wardrobe”, in which a few but valuable items of clothing can be combined in a variety of ways, we use the Capsule Concept for the presentation of decors and thus provide recommendations for a wide range of applications, trend themes and combination options,’ explains Monhoff.
Recently recognised with the German Design Award, the capsules, such as the ‘Muted Greens’, not only bring together new products, but also existing and proven decors from wood and material reproductions in combination with various, increasingly neutral, muted colours and plain colours. For customers, this innovative approach offers a real, inspiring decision-making aid, as all the decors used can be combined with each other and finished with the matching edges for the perfect decor combination. Our verdict: an amazing product and service package that is second to none.
