The Swiss luxury brand FOUTA crafts classic Mediterranean towels like those traditionally worn by men and women in the public baths of the 19th century.
fouta’s soft Sablé towels boast a wide operational washing temperature range between 20-95ºC, without suffering material degradation. This means they can stand up to anything a busy family home can throw at them

×Swiss luxury towel brand fouta offer a simple and confident range including the fouta Classique – a traditionally designed and handcrafted oriental bath towel – and fouta Sablé – incredibly soft, traditionally Swiss granular towels and cloths. Both products offer enough versatility to serve the multitude of drying solutions home life demands.
Sustainability is rooted at the heart of the fouta brand. It is their belief that for any product to be truly sustainable, it needs not only to be long lasting, but also well loved and used every day, with no loss of quality.
fouta Classique – traditional towels with a twist
An integral part of everyday life and Tunisian bathing culture, the fouta towel's centuries-old production techniques are faithfully upheld in the manufacture of the finely woven 100% cotton fouta Classique. As the production of the fouta Classique in Tunisia has come to an end, the firm would like to give back to the country and is actively looking to support an educational project.
The Classique range of traditional Fouta towels, featuring distinctive hand-woven cotton twist ‘shaggies’, is characterised by a variety of stunning colour options

×A distinctive highlight of the Classique series are the shaggies, the fine cotton twists linked by hand according to Tunisian tradition. The shaggies complement a timeless design, itself characterised by stunning colour options including dark blue, petrol blue, silver grey, maroon, dusty pink and black. All colours are available in four sizes: S (50 x 100cm), M (78 x 130cm), L (100 x 200cm) and a baby towel with hood (80 x 80cm).
fouta Sablé – everyday towels made to last
Just like fouta’s Classique range, the Sablé towels are manufactured to 100-year-old traditions, with an old weaving technique retrieved from the Textile Museum St. Gallen, Switzerland. Both sustainable and enduring products enjoy a small, local supply chain, manufactured in a traditional textile factory in Russikon, just outside Zurich.

×Sustainability and versatility are the immediate focus of the Sablé design. Thanks to a finely woven granular construction, with careful processing of high-quality raw organic materials, the Sablé towels are incredibly soft and pleasing to the skin. The light towels save on space in both the washing machine and the cupboard, dry remarkably quickly yet become ever softer and more absorbent with each wash.
Suitable for a multitude of drying tasks while enjoying a wide operational washing temperature range (20-95ºC) without material degradation, the Sablé towel collection is available in seven complementary colours: petrol blue, dark blue, silver grey, maroon, taupe, dusty pink and black, with an additional two new colour options soon to be announced.
All colours are available in S (50 x 100cm) and L (90 x 180cm) sizes, while a practical 50 x 50cm (XS) guest hand towel will be new to stores from October 2018.
Available in three separate sizes (including a new XS size from October 2018), and becoming softer and more absorbent with each wash, Sablé towels and cloths are perfect for use by the whole family

×fouta Upcycling – secondary products feature in a sustainable culture
To ensure such high-quality towelling products, only the finest standard of material makes it into the Classique and Sablé ranges. Unfortunately, this means that any naturally defective cloth is discarded, and large amounts could be wasted. In efforts to reduce waste products to a minimum, the fouta Upcycling project turns this otherwise waste material into a new range of high-quality secondary products including smaller all-purpose cloths, baby bath towels, gym bags, scarves and even baby bibs.
fouta for commercial hospitality
The versatility of all fouta products makes them perfect for use in and around the home, as well as out on park walks, beach days or picnicking adventures. But their design, colour options, lightness, super absorbency, durability and even the possibility to weave in a bespoke logo, make them perfect for the hospitality sector, where their timeless design sits comfortably with any luxury hospitality brand.
When placed in hotel rooms, a quick dry time means a greater towel-use per wash rate, reducing energy costs and making them especially attractive to environmentally-proud brands. While in hotels or commercial pools or baths, both fouta products save on storage space without compromising on comfort.
Due to their finely woven granular construction, the soft and light Sablé towels save on space in the cupboard yet still dry incredibly quickly. Making them perfect for any task, all around the home
