For the upcoming edition in January, Heimtextil is adding an important new product segment, with textile floor coverings this year getting their very own stage.
As if the range of products at Heimtextil was not already extensive enough, from 2024, the Frankfurt-based fair for home and contract textiles is now offering yet another great reason to visit: make a note of Hall 5.1! This is where the new Carpets & Rugs product segment will make its debut from 9 to 12 January. Around one hundred international manufacturers of fitted, hand-woven, custom-made or machine-woven carpets, mats, runners and bridges have already announced their participation, including brands from Egypt, Belgium, Bangladesh, China, Greece, India, Italy and Turkey, for what is sure to be a sparkling premiere.

×Tradition alongside innovation
The decision to expand the range comes at a time when craftsmanship per se is more important than it has been for a long time. And so manufacturers such as Rugs Inc, Sarla Handicrafts and The Rug Republic – who have presented at Heimtextil before, albeit without a theme-specific platform – but also new exhibitors such as Harkom Setabganj from Bangladesh, will exhibit their products with a feeling of particular pride in January. After all, it is to their great credit that age-old skills continue to live on in the form of their contemporary designs. The Rug Republic, for example, has already announced several new, sustainably handmade indoor and outdoor product collections.

×In contrast, manufacturers of machine-woven carpets are distinguishing themselves through durable designs and the use of precision technology. Among them are Merinos Hali San from Turkey, Nikotex Carpets from Greece, the Egyptian Oriental Weavers Group (Oriental Weavers, Mac Carpet, Egyptian Fibres Company), Ragolle Rugs from Belgium, the Belgian association Fedustria with its member companies and the Italian manufacturers Fini Cop and Royaltex. For the retail sector, including furniture stores and interior boutiques, as well as for professionals from the interior architecture and interior design industries, the new Carpets and Rugs area really closes an important gap in the field of home and household textiles – so get ready for a magic carpet ride in January!
