Both at the new Red Bull site in Amsterdam and the Limburgs Museum in Venlo, Leolux LX upholstered furniture enhances the ambience of each of these contract settings.

×Contract interiors represent a creative tightrope for designers to tread. Workplace environments present a company’s voice and personality in physical form, introducing the brand before visitors even enter the building. So when highly brand-conscious energy drinks company Red Bull moved offices, architect Casper Schwarz took inspiration from the brand’s lifelong mantra, and created a workplace that ‘gives you wings’.
The new Amsterdam office was created as a space for all of life to happen, from eating and drinking to gaming and partying and, above all else, bonding. To enable these supporting activities, lounge sets were created using Leolux LX’s minimalist LX986 chairs, designed by Jan Armgardt in 1998. With its industrial wire base and thick, luxurious quilted cushion, the almost retro 23-year-old LX986 sits perfectly in Red Bull’s urban-chic environment, alongside one-of-a-kind pieces that reference the brand’s sporting exploits, including a skateboard-deck chair and Formula 1-tyre table.

×Meanwhile, on another side of another town, the Limburgs Museum in Venlo, Netherlands, also benefitted from the Leolux LX collection. Museums and art galleries present a multitude of directional dilemmas. With so many intersecting rooms and routes, intellectual tourists can either become overwhelmed with possibilities or feel herded around like cattle. These erudite spaces have so much to offer, but taking it all in tends to take it all out on the old trotters.

×Thus, enter Leolux LX’s LX99P seat into the lost art of museum seating design. The backless, pill-shaped oasis eschews any dictation of sitting form, allowing users to face whichever direction they like, while encouraging a more restful narrative through the museum’s treasures.
With over 60 models, the Leolux LX collection brings brand-conscious design and functional aesthetics to projects in a variety of sectors.
